A Look Back: The History of our Church

In February 1973, the William L. Shelton family travelled to Manila from Clark Air Base to attend a meeting of Manila preachers with Ronald Hoffman, Philippine Christian Mission. One item of the meeting was discussion of starting a new church in Angeles City near Clark Air Base.

The first Worship Service and Sunday School were conducted 18th of February with 32 present in the first service. Afterwards, the land at 56-B Mayon St, Plaridel 1 was purchased and has become the main office and House of Worship.

One of the Filipino ministers, Leonardo Salvador and his wife Zenaida, volunteered to begin travelling to Angeles City each weekend to work with the Sheltons in establishing a new congregations of Americans and Filipinos. The Shelton's home located at 17-19 Samanting St Carmenville Housing Compound Angeles City was to be the meeting place for the Church services, Sunday school and other Bible studies as needed.

The Salvadors began securing Filipino prospect names from our churches and other areas and MSgt Shelton received some American prospect names from the Base Chapel records.
